I am new at this and this may sound like a idiot's question but...How many channels can you record in Sound Forge 5.0? Thanks for any help. Carol |

Ummm...two. Stereo. Left and right. :) Sound Forge is an audio editor. I've seen some packages that can do surround sound like Dolby Digital but those (I heard) cost a bundle. Quite frankly, I'm not interested in such a feature. I'm quite happy with Sound Forge as it is. HTH, Iacobus |

Well, from one newbie to another, if you mean channels, that would be 2. If you mean tracks, a light version of Vegas, another Sonic Foundry product, called Vegas LE, comes bundled with Sound Forge 5.0. That program can work with up to 8 tracks, I believe. I've never used that program so I can't even begin to tell you how it works or when you'd use it over Sound Forge itself. I simply read that people were demanding multi-track capability out of Sound Forge so they decided to include Vegas LE with Sound Forge 5.0. I don't know if this answered your question or not, but I hope so. sk |
