Subject:SF 9 freezes Posted by: FearlessRaccoon Date:3/12/2012 10:48:45 AM I am using a Win 7 32-bit system, have happily used SF 9 for a few years, it has the latest update 9.0e. When I create a new file, typically the first thing I do is run DC offset - then I begin editing. A few weeks ago, SF started freezing when I tried to do DC offset. It seemed that if I saved the file first, then ran DC offset, that prevented freezes. But now, even if I save the file first, when I run DC offset SF is still freezing. I'm thinking I should do a reinstall, but thought I'd check here first for any tips. The only recent program I've installed (besides browser updates) has been CrashPlan. I use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware as my AV, and don't do anything stupid on this system.

See the line "Display system information on my forum profile page", select and Submit.

By the way, the only software I have installed the past few months has been CrashPlan. It was suggested I disable it while working in SF, and so far the issue has gone away. This may be my problem. I think that's how they do it at Tom's Hardware, btw. So I'm pretty sure it was a conflict with CrashPlan. I started up a new session, forgot to disable CrashPlan, and when I went to normalize a new file I hadn't saved yet, it froze. But this time, before going to shut SF down via Task Manager, I simply disabled CrashPlan - and suddenly SF unfroze!

Fearless,
