Subject:copy and paste event adds extra space

Ok, I know how to copy and paste, have done so for years. But in my new version of Acid Pro 7 I suddenly have a glitch; when I paste a copied event an extra space the length of the copied event gets inserted after the pasted event, so every pasted event has a blank space after it. This makes copying and pasting impossible. Nothing I've tried has unlocked this, including turning off the computer. I can't proceed, help!

Steps to repro?

Does this happen with just this one project or any project?

I tried opening up a new project, same thing.
I thought I might have activated an option to change the ctrl+v but dont know what that would be, I tried right-click and edit-paste; same result.

Out of curiosity, what happens when you use paste repeat? (Ctrl + B)

Try pasting 4 times and once every quarter note. If the event is longer that the duration specified, it should be cut off since it has to be pasted again at that interval.

Thanks for looking at this Iacobus,
the same thing happens, everything in the track after the item pasted gets bumped forward by the amount of time in the pasted event..
This has really stopped me in my tracks, I literally cannot use the program until this gets solved.

these are just suggestions: try using a different tool to copy/paste, try pasting into new tracks.
you didn't mention whether you were copying single or multiple events.
is it midi or pcm data?
does this happen when running a second instance of acid?

I've tried that, no luck. It seems like a glitch, or like an accidental change in the settings for the tool function, but I've never seen anything like it after using acid for several years. This is on Acid Pro 7.
I've tried single events and blocks of multiple events. These are not midi events, just acid loop clips or events.
If I copy an event one measure long and then try to paste the event in another location, a space of one measure is inserted, along with the pasted event.
Whatever the length of the event I am pasting, that will be the length of the accompanying space inserted.
It's driving me frickin crazy!

That's not good, especially if you followed my instructions.

Have you tried a complete uninstall and reinstall? Sounds like something might have gotten corrupted. (Might also want to make sure your video drivers are working correctly. It's not uncommon for video card drivers to cause problems like this.)
