Hello,

I need to make by myself a voiceover to a video. However, I don’t have a professional voice! Does anyone know if it is possible to make any improvements in voiceover record through Sound Forge Studio 10? What would be the tools available?

I already post a thread in Vegas Pro forum in which I am asking from advices about the subject using Vegas (http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=802344&Replies=5).

Anyway, I am a beginner user both Sound Forge Studio 10 and Vegas Pro 11. It seems to me that there are many audio tools overlapped in these software. Considering the overlaps, will the output have the same quality both in Vegas or Sound Forge? What are the main tools/resources that I should be aware that just exist in Sound Forge to give support to voiceover?

Many thanks in advance,
Cadu

Sorry, there are no JE Jones, Don LaFontaine, Peter Coyote or Liev Schreiber presets.
You must start with a good/proper microphone, microphone accessories, preamp and soundcard. If you don't already have this gear, decent 'large diaphragm USB mics' are available these days. Check out ones from Rode, Shure, AT and other pro-microphone manufactures.
Search forums like DVXuser, Creative Cow for more general VO recording info. Once you have successfully recorded a good sounding narration, SF can be used to edit and polish the already VO track with a little EQ and compression.
No microphone, software or amount of equipment can make you sound like a pro VO artist.

Thanks for information.
I will suggest Sony to implement at least a "Don LaFontaine" audio presets in future releases!
