Subject:Problems with Midi input in Sound forge v.5

I dont receive any sound from my S.F.v.5 software when playing my external Yamaha keyboard psr-280. I have the midi input/sync trigger selected in the "options" menu along with the correct input device selected in the MIDI/SYNC tab from the "preferences" menu. I do receive a response in the MIDI/Triggers section in the note (C-1 to G-9). I also get response from the regions/playlist in the Toolbars section. The notes coordinate with the keys i press on the yamaha, I just dont get any sound. ive also selected the sonic foundry midi router after installing it but i still get no response, not even from the note (C-1 to G9) section. The output device works o.k., because I receive sound from the yamaha when I press keys on the s.f.v.5 keyboard from the "View" menu. I have my midi volume and reg. volume up full blast. I have tried selecting different midi instruments (sonic foundry midi router, sbpci midi synth in, ect.) in the "sound, video, ect." section from the "multimedia" menu in the control panel. I have a soundblaster 16pci. Is my Yamaha keyboard or my sound card not supportd by S.F.v.5 or what? If you could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. Im just a beginner but i hope to prosper in the world of digital music production. thanks for your time.
