Hi Zeitgeist, can you help us out by adding your system specs to your profile? Please include your video card and driver version.

Thanks,
Paddy

Is anyone else experiencing this? I updates my specs. I am using nvidia gtx550 with the latest certified drivers. I also have problems with the fill light filter producing very dark random frames even though the plug is set for brighter footage. My work around is to avoid these two plugs along with New Blue Titler because everything else is working fine. However the curves plug is something i would like to use.

hey Zeit... go to

and check the box nearer the bottom that says "Display system information on my forum profile page."

Zeit,

I've had it a few times. But I can't duplicate it at will. I have much more problems with the Color Wheels, which seem to crash every third or forth time.

Good Luck,

Keith

How does the crash happen? I add/edit curves plugin and the fx windows is blank and then the whole interface stops responding. It seems to happen a lot. Vegas is solid for when i edit a project together but going through it to grade the clips is a nightmare. I use the keyboard shortcuts a lot so I'm now used to doing ctrl +s (save) every few changes, but the crashes are very annoying.

Do you use any 3rd party fx as well? I use newBlue fx (video essentials collections etc) and think that may be the problem.

I am encountering the same problem with curves. Especially for big projects on timeline. First applied onto a clip or more, the curves window is blank and the program crashes.

System Specs

*(not available)*

Zeitgeist, could you please fill in your specs (and also enable them) as Paddy has requested. This helps SCS find the problem.

cheers
Paul.

Zeitgeist, thank you for replying with your video card. However, as some others have noted, your system specs are still not showing. You may need to enable them as Rob Wood mentioned. That way, we don't have to ask again, if ever you should require assistance in the future.

Rv6tc: I've had it a few times. But I can't duplicate it at will. I have much more problems with the Color Wheels, which seem to crash every third or forth time.
Keith, your specs are also not showing. Can you please post and enable them in your forum profile? Please include your video card and driver.

Thanks,
Paddy

V11 64 bit crashes a lot for me too when using any VFX, whether Sony's own, BCC7, or Magic Bullet.

Paddy,

I just went to "MY Account" => "System Information" and it's all there.

What am I missing?

Keith, as robwood said earlier in this thread, make sure to check the box nearer the bottom that says "Display system information on my forum profile page."

If you click your username, you get to see your profile etc. and your system specs, if you have selected to show them in "My Account > Forum Settings". See the line "Display system information on my forum profile page", select and Submit.

edit. Mike beat me to it:)

ok, will do. I took a look & couldn't find it, so thanks for the info on how.
Rv6tc wrote on 2/16/2012, 8:28 PM
Ah..... Thanks.

I missed that one.

The curve plug shows up blank and then causes vegas to crash. I restart Vegas without a reboot apply the plug and it works. Seems to happen more when I am using the external monitor.

Temporarily reduce the "Sync" to ZERO on the ExtMon setting.

I've had this in V7>>VP10 and when we've had new releases, SCS have previously advised me to do this. It's a "Memory Thang!"

Cheers

Paddy,

I was just able to crash Vegas 11 with the curves. I had opened a new fx at the project level and played with it and everything seemed fine. So then I went in and opened a previously saved correction that I had added that, was curves only and the second I opened that one, the fx/Curves window was all grey with nothing in it, and it brought down Vegas.

Let me know if there are specific steps I can take to duplicate this to help you guys investigate.

rv6tc@myawai.com (new ISP next week, this will only work for about another week. I'll post the new one then)

Anybody else starting to wish they had not "upgraded" to VP 11 - projects take way longer when one has to keep checking forums to see why it's crashing this time. Last time it was the "pro" titler ... Now this. I can't even keep the program up long enough to remove all the events with Sony Curves. Extremely frustrated today sorry.

Well, that's simply the nature of beta testing, isn't it?
Geoff Edwards wrote on 2/17/2012, 11:35 AM
I wasn't aware I was beta testing when my business invested in this application. Until this is stable I am going to go back to using VP10. Unfortunately I am not able to open this current project in VP10. So it appears I am stuck in a loop, nearly every time I open the fx dialogue and try to turn off curves on events it is crashing the application.

Anyone know how long for a response on a support ticket anyway?
Rv6tc wrote on 2/17/2012, 11:40 AM
Geoff,

To get the crash that I did up above, I took the project I was working on in VP10 and imported it into 11. 10 is working pretty well for me, so I use that when I'm doing most of my editing (but I'm an amateur, so no real deadlines)

I moved the latest project from 11 back to 10 because of the playback rates. They would start out great, then drop to 5 fps. Same project in 10 and they play at Best/Full at full speed. But I guess that's for another thread.

Best of luck. Hang in there. It will get better.

Sorry, I was trying to be funny and failed. The only good thing I can say about V11 so far is that, as a pure hobbyist, the fact that it mostly doesn't work doesn't really cost me anything except time. When it is repaired by V11.whatever or V12 I'll continue editing my 20 years of family videos. For you pros, you have my sympathy.

No, my apologies it's rare but my frustrations with this got the better of me today I am afraid. ;)
