I'm still using an old version of Sound Forge 5.0 which is fine for me, but I have some old plug ins I can use with it (DX versions?) with .dll files. Can anyone tell me where SF5 looks for its plug ins? What folder do i put the .dll files into so they show up? Or I don't believe that SF5 has a folder in "options" they you can pick for plug ins? as it doesn't use VST plug ins Am I looking in the wrong place? |

If the dll is a direct x plugin, drag the dll on to Forge's window and it should get registered. Peter |

When I try and drag the .dll files over to SF 5.0, i either get ".dll is a binary file that does not support self registration and is mostly not a direct X plug in" or "The file C/audio/bouncy.dll could not be opened. The file type could not be recognised" Now these are free older plugs that i thought I did have working previously in SF, and they are not VST plug ins? |

If forge says it is not a DirectX plug in, then it is not. How do you know they are not VST plugins? I googled "bouncy plugin" and found a reference to a VST plugin. Have you tried locating the vendor of these plugins and see what they have to say? Peter Message last edited on2/11/2012 9:32:29 PM bypwppch. |
