Hi,

I did and it works. I did it with Sonic Foundry MIDI router.

Select Edit Preferences and in page Advanced MIDI select BUS A: 1: Sonic Foundry MIDI Router, BUS B: 2: Sonic Foundry MIDI Router etc.

In Reason select "MIDI In Device" and set it per "Bus select".

I Use, Windows 2000 SP2, and a Echo Layla24 Multitrack recording system.

Regards,
Diederick.

diedrick can you give more info about your system? motherboard, cpu, etc.?

i have win2k sp2, amd chip, abit mobo w/via chipset, echo gina24, using the exact same software setup as you but it doesn't work!

the sync works in that i can start and stop, but the timing goes to crap within 4-8 bars every time. if i adjust knobs in reason or change the loop point in acid it invariably loses sync although they both play.

SF has previously posted in these pages that sync via midi router be limited to Acid which does not contain audio--I assume they're referring to something like a long one shot, especially an MP3. Apparently, they don't support sync with another program which utilizes audio at the same time that Acid playing back audio. Now, Reason doesn't have audio per-se (besides loops & samples) so it is not necessarily a problem...theoretically.

From the rather tenuous and cautious SF responses in this area, the message seems to be, "Proceed into syncland with great caution, and without our support."

Windows 2000 Pro SP2
Intel PIII 1Ghz/133Mhz
Intel 82820 AGP set
L1 32, L2 256
256MB RIMM
Echo Layla24 (With the 0.64 driver, 0.66 does not work good for my taste)
