Subject:Rewire Posted by: Marc1 Date:2/3/2012 5:19:47 AM I'm trying to use the VSTs and plug ins from Ableton 8 lite in acid 7 and i'm not understanding what the manual is trying to explain.From what i'm reading you can use another interface(along with it's instruments and effects)as a slave.Any input would be great.It was when I read "instant acid"that gave me the idea, but I'm having trouble making heads or tails.Thanks.Marc

If Live is correctly installed and you have run it at least once then it should appear in ACID's list of available ReWire devices. Make sure that Live is NOT running when you start ACID. However, a ReWire device cannot process audio from ACID. ACID can receive audio from Live, but cannot send audio to it. That is how ReWire works. ACID can send MIDI to a ReWire device. What this means is that you cannot use any of Live's audio effects to process ACID's audio. ACID can also be used as a ReWire device, so you can connect ACID to Live. Then you can process the audio produced by ACID through whatever processing that Live permits. Peter
