You'll have to contact customer service and have them reset the registration count on your serial number. |

Did you try to open the program as administrator? (right click the icon and choose the option - it helped in my case) |

It seems Sony is lacking in Customer Service. I will create a new support ticket each and every day until they respond. |

Sony hasn't shown a willingness to help me in over a year of trying to get them to fix my Sound Forge registration problem. Do they even have customer service reps? Perhaps everyone is busy inventing another new media format to sell to gullible consumers. They don' t reply and their online "fixes" have never worked. I decided to solve any future Sony problems by never buying any Sony products--hardware or software. |

I think I've just come to that exact conclusion. I hardly ever used the Audio Studio 9 and had to uninstall it to do repairs on this laptop. Now I go to re-install it and the server encounters and error. Why did I ever buy it? No service, no way to contact service. Soultion, Sony just lost another customer to a COMPETITOR! |

- Have you tried downloading the latest update? Your current installation file could be corrupted on some level. - Try the alternate off-line registration method.. and/or temporarily disable any antivirus programs on the installation and registration. Antivirus programs are known to cause problems on different levels with many A/V software apps. - Install the program on a different PC, if that goes OK, it's an issue with your particular machine.. Have you just tried calling SCS customer service on the phone? In my experience they have been very accommodating.. of coarse, I have not been in contact with them for a few years and things may have changed.. I thought I'd chime in and agree that this is a very stup1d problem. I shouldn't have to wait for "store hours" to get software I paid for to work. The worse part about the "too many" activations situation is that you can't deactivate obsolete computers or just transfer the license to a new computer despite the fact that they're tracking them. Adobe went this route and I hope Sony doesn't do the same. I dumped Adobe products for that very reason. Why a company would want to drive loyal customers to "cracks" is beyond me! Glad to see that I'm not the only one having this problem. At least the "rejection" message should be more informative, like: You have activated this copy on 3 computers and must contact Tech Support at 800-555-1234 in order to reset your activation counter." I shouldn't have to go to the forum to find out why the registration is being rejected (if indeed this is the correct reason). Oddly, when clicking on "My Registrations" I don't see any for Sound Forge Pro 10, only for versions 8 and 9, even though I have version 10 running on one or maybe two computers. . It would be nice if at least they answered the phone. Yesterday I let the speakerphone jabber at me while on hold and doing something else. After about 20 minutes of "we are experiencing a high volume of calls" it hung up on me. I wonder how long this will go on. The NAMM show is coming up next week. I'll berate them there. Yeah Mike, Please convey my displeasure with SCS as well. My suggestions fall on deaf ears. SF-Pro (and I use the term lightly) needs full BWF support as well as ATSC A/85 and/or EBU metering. But these could be considered 'pro' features.. and SCS doesn't seem interested in appeasing pros. |

Just to close my input here, I did receive an e-mail the day after my mail to Tech Support saying they had increased my authorized number of authorizations, and then the on-line registration went through smoothly. I do wish that a rejected authorization included a message explaining why and how to rectify the situation. And of course I understand the reason behind limiting the number of installations without some direct contact. . |
