I know the answer will make me feel about 2" tall but I need help. Suddenly SF Studio 10 has started playing all my 48kHz, 16bit wav files about 2x speed and for the life of me I cannot figure out why. They play fine in Vegas Pro Video and all other audio editing programs except SFS 10. Where is the mysterious button I clicked by mistake? Thanks for your help. Kent |

Only thing I can think of is, if you are using ASIO drivers: Did you change your soundcard samplerate after you started Soundforge? In that case you just need to re-start SF, or put soundcard samplerate back where it was. Message last edited on1/29/2012 3:49:21 PM byChristoC. |

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I'm not using ASIO drivers and sample rate has not been changed on the card. SF reads file properties as 48kHz 16bit (which is what it is) but plays incorrectly. Just for kicks, I saved the file from SF as 48kHz wav and 16bits and when opened in other programs, it plays incorrectly in them also whereas the original file played properly except in SF. Kent |

One cause of this is another audio device hijacking your Windows drivers. It may be some background process that is running at startup you may not even be aware of. Only one process at a time can control the Windows mapper. |

I can see that being a problem but why does it only affect Sound Forge 7, 9 and 10 and no other audio programs? Kent |
