My PC crashed during install of Acid Music 3.0a from the CD. I rebooted and attempted to reinstall. Now I get the message "An existing version of Acid Music 3.0a was found on your system. Do you wish to reinstall?" My options are Yes and No. I choose Yes, and get the error message "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed." HELP! I'm caught in an error message cycle. I've searched my hard drive, and there is nothing installed... |

you need to use Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and uninstall from there. If it doesn't show up there, it sounds like you might need to use a Windows Registry cleaning utility to fix it. Don't use such a utility unless you are comfortable with the idea of possibly having to reinstall windows, they work most of the time but you could get hosed if you don't know what you're doing... |

Thanks for the tip... but it didn't work. Doesn't show up in add/remove program. Tried RegClean, rebooted.... still same error messages. |

Well, I tried downloading the Acid Music 3.0c upgrade and installing with my original Serial Number. This seems to have worked, sort of... the program doesn't show up in add/remove programs, and trying to uninstall gives me the same error message "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed." So my installed and working program is not installed? Well, anyway, it's working, though now can't ever be properly uninstalled. But why would I want to uninstall it, right? |
