Subject:Problem with mp3 plug in?

I have been using 4.5 and recording from a DAT for 6 months now. I have had no problems, but since inserting the mp3 plug in, my computer won't record the sound off the DAT. I've unplugged my DAT, restarted my computer, and I can't come up with anything. The only idea I have is that this began after I downloaded the mp3 plug in. It's as if no sound is on the DAT, the monitor doesn't indicate sound, but I can hear the data through my speakers.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Open the Windows volume control by double clicking the yellow speaker icon by your computer's clock. Once the play control window comes up, go to the Options menu and select "Properties". Select "Recording" under "Adjust Volume For" and where it says "Show the Following Volume Controls", make sure everything is selected. Now click "OK" and you will get a recording control window. This is where you can change the source that you are recording from. Under each volume control is a box marked "Select". Make sure that the box under the desired source is selected and that the volume is turned up about three quarters of the way. If the music is too loud or quiet when you record it, you can come back to this window and adjust the volume as necessary.
