Using an assignable FX, when selecting a preset I get the following error message, "an error occurred while processing the undo buffer. You should save your work imediately using a new filename and restart Acid. The item was not found". I click OK and the the following error message appears, "an error occurred while processing the undo buffer. You should save your work imediately using a new filename and restart Acid. The reason for the error could not be determined". These errors only occur when I select a preset or when I check or uncheck the plug-in in the FX window. After clicking OK to both error messages the preset I have chosen loads into the plug-in. This problem occurs with all plug-ins. 98se abit kt7a-raid mobo 256 megs pc133 1.2 gig Athlon 2 40 gig Maxtors (raided 0) DX 8a SF & Cakewalk plugs |

First thing I think of when you say that is, did you make sure that you checked the undo button when you added the effects? This is the option that actually creates the undo file when you add the effect. Also are you creating a new file name when you save or are you over riding the original? Could make a difference, but that's the only thing I can think of. Hopefully someone with a little more experience will pop up soon. Good luck, Maninblac4 |

The Create undos for FX parameter changes is checked. I guess I'll uncheck it to see if it helps. And I've also saved with a new filename and overwritten the original. The problem persists either way. Thanks |

I recently purchased ACID Pro 3.0 and installed the 3.0c update. I have been having the same problem with assignable FX. I think it is a bug with the 3.0c update. I uninstalled the software and reinstalled ACID from the original CDRom and have not had any problems since. Hope this helps. |

Hello, I tried recreating what you said and cannot, I'm running Acid 3.0c I was able to put in two assignable effects, 1/Dither and 2/Graphic EQ,Chorus,Noise Gate. I used both factory presets and my own with no errors. What effects are in the chain? Rockit |

Yes, I get this error too with Acid Pro 3.0e build 329. This error occurs when 2 or more assignable FX are defined. It's "boring" when creating music. We are musicians, artists, creators, not technicians. We don't need such ridiculous messages but a reliable and professional tool... So, dear Sonic Foundry Team, do you plan to release an update ? Meanwhile, any idea, guys ? |

I have received the same message!!! I thought it was because I installed 3.0e update, but I uninstalled it and reinstalled the 3.0c update a got the same error when selecting plugin presets. I had to go back to the original install file that I purchased online in order for it to work. SF please help us!!!! |

I tried several things and this is what I found out : If there is the master bus only, I can use ONE assignable effect without errors. If there is the master bus + bus A, I can use 2 effects without errors. With Master + bus A + bus B, 3 effects, and so on. In conclusion, it seems that the program looks for bus data "n" when the user changes the FX preset "n". There should be a mismatch with some internal pointers in the application. I have just sent a technical support request. I hope SF will give us a solution very quickly. |

Hi, I've tried to save a new user preset but the problem remains. According to me, it's really a bug that SF should fix as soon as possible. |

Summary of that issue: When using more assignable FX than the number of busses (master bus included), two error messages are displayed when changing the preset or the bypass check box. ============================================================= "An error occurred while processing the undo buffer. You should save your work immediately using a new filename and restart Acid. The item was not found." ============================================================= "The reason for the error could not be determined." ============================================================= Until today, I've got NO ANSWER from Sonic Foundry. I (and all other users having this problem) wish to receive information (and update) as soon as possible. Thanks. |

Hello Djipy- Thanks for doing the research. We've reproduced and fixed the problem. The fix should show up in the 3.0f update, which should be coming fairly soon. Best, Joel |
