Sony Push transition different in Vegas 11

I'm feeling again this morning like Vegas 11 is a push backwards...

I opened (what I believe to be) a Vegas 9 file this morning to make some exports for the web. It contained lots of Sony Push transitions, and luckily for me I checked one before exporting. The transition operates very differently than it did originally. In my case, an fullscreen image that ended with a "Push Left, Push off previous image" (which pushed the fullscreen image left) now begins the same transition by being suddenly offscreen, then pushing right to fill the screen, and finally disappearing (because the transition was completed).

The same transition plays fine in when the veg file is viewed Vegas 10, but not 11. In fact, I can create a new file in Vegas 10 with this transition, import it into Vegas 11, and all is well. It's just files created in Vegas 9 (and presumably earlier) that fail.

I no longer have Vegas 9 on a computer---can anyone confirm this? (FWIW, resaving the Vegas 9 file in Vegas 10 stills fails in Vegas 11). All I can tell is that at least Push transitions made in Vegas 10 work properly under Vegas 11.

That sounds like the same issue I encountered - and might also be related to the keyframing bug. It was only with the 511 version... the first released version of 11 didn't do that.

I don't have V9 on my system... so I can't confirm.

A temporary workaround might be to switch off the GPU acceleration.

It worked wonders here and prevented rotations, zooms etc. from doing these strange jumps.

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately no change. It's a weird glitch, and seems to apply to other transitions besides Push. As best as I can determine, if you author a file in Vegas 9 & import it into Vegas 11 you get unfixable errors in these types of transitions. The reason I say unfixable is that I can remove the bad transition from an event, change it to a fade, etc, but no matter what I do any new transition applied to that event works incorrectly (for instance, in Push it reverses the movement as well as gets the wrong video source for the transition). Once an event has a corrupted transition, you can never fix it. You can, however, drag the same clip from Project Media and apply a new transition to it, which works.

I seldom use these kinds of transitions. Unfortunately, in this project I've got nearly 800 of them...

I'm having the same problem with a VEG that was created in v10. It sounds like it's identical to your problem. I have been searching for an answer but found nothing. Very frustrating. Have you had any luck with this yet?

Ah, I have a solution for my particular issue...but not a pleasant one! I usually select "insert envelope>transition progression" on my transitions, and this project was full of them, and stumbled across this solution...if I manually change the direction (reverse) of the progression envelope, it fixes the problem. Actually there is an option in the right click menu to "flip all points" on the envelope, so that makes it a little easier.

Very odd...and time consuming to fix, but I will continue with this solution until we can find the proper resolution.
