Vegas Vid cannot read Vidcap AVI's

David_Cowens wrote on 10/17/2001, 10:15 AM
My system recently was trashed and had to be rebuilt and now Vegas Video cannot read the AVI’s produced by Sonic Vidcap.
The Vegas version is 2.0 (build 302)
I tried the original Vidcap that came on the CD then upgraded VidCap to: Version 2.0h (Build 80).
I have dx8 loaded and upgraded my media player 7.01 (hoping for better codecs). BTW the media player has no problem playing the AVI’s produced by Sonic’s Vidcap.

Below is the error Vegas Video displays as soon as I try to open an AVI from Vidcap. This all worked fine in the past… any ideas?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

If your Vegas and VidCap versions are mismatched, there can be problems. Uninstall that version of Vegas, and then install version 2.0h from the following link:

Thanks Ted for your assistance.

I’ll wait until tonight for the download because I only have a 26400 connection and it could take all night. Will I run into any registration problems?

Thank you for the prompt reply.

You shouldn't run into any registration problems. You can simply use your old codes that you used to reg the app on your machine to unlock the application after installing.
