Nothing is going to open an Acid file other than Acid, as memory serves. Again, do yourself a favor-- spend $30 and pick up Acid DJ or Acid Techno. You can save as a .wav or an mp3 (I think), and in many respects, it's damn near the same program (other than FX, 24 bit, etc...) as Acid Pro. Seriously.

If you're really too cheap to afford the $30 or whatever the entry level version of Acid costs you can use the special version of the free Acid Xpress that they've made available for the Flash competition. It times out at the end of this month but until then it will allow you to save as WAVs. Then you can use one of dozens of free MP3 converters (MusicMatch has been mentioned, and there are loads of others) to convert to MP3.

Of course during the time you've been bleating about it you could easily have earned yourself the 30 bucks, I'd have thought - washing a few cars, mowing a few lawns, etc. I dunno, youth of today, when I was a lad we didn't have... etc, etc.

Ignore that, I'm just feeling very old this morning. Best of luck with your stuff.

Mark (I can remember when all this was just fields)

You can get Acid Music 2.0 at Amazon.com for 40$!
If you think you can make it big, I really don't think Acid Xpress will take you there, even if you can convert to mp3s. You'll need FX, which Music 2.0 has. Also, don't overlook the fact that you get full Sonic Foundry support with a registered version.
Overlooking the fact that you think you deserve a free serial number more than anyone here, I wish you luck in your future music "career".
If you want to sample some of the better creations put out by Acid users, check out www.acidplanet.com. It'll give you an indication what you have to reach for and surpass in order to "make it big".

Later.

goto www.downloads.com and get a free copy of MPEG Suite. You can convert .wav to mp3 and mp3 to .wav.

So save (export) your wave file in acid then convert it to mp3.
