Subject:Previewing track on Acid 3 makes popping noises

Right now I have a P3 - 500 with 256ram and 63gigs of space with Sound blaster Live It seems when I render my tracks they sound fine, but previewing, every split seconed there is a static noise. I believe I have all the newst drivers for my sound card... Need help plz :) |

Get used to it. Doesn't happen with 2.0. Lot's of pops with 3.0. Tried everything. No problems with other programs just Acid. What a waste. I use Acid 2.0 because I can't stand the popping. Yes, I'm using the latest drivers and ACID 3.0C. Talk about a step backwards. More like they fell backwards. |

Can I be honest? I used to have problems with the Live! until I finally upgraded (sidegraded?) my soundcard to an M-Audio Audiophile 2496. The difference was like night and day performance-wise. Other people who've invested in a similar card (like Echo's Mia) would probably tell you the same. Iacobus |

Seems to me this is a genuine bug. I get the same problem with my Creamw@re TDAT16 (aka Sonorus STUDI/O) card. Pops and crackles adjusting the volume after previewing loops. Really irritating. Any comment SF? Regards M |

This isn't a sound card problem. Its a known "issue" with Acid 3.0 I had an e-mail from a friendly support person earlier saying they're just about to post a work around (which I have proven works) on this forum. Check back later. If they dont post within a day or so I will post the info I was sent. |

3.0C is famous for this glitching, especially on long one-shots or MP3's. Don't even talk about sync issues with long one-shots. Of course, I've had this crud on various machines with various cards and various revs of Acid, so let's get this product out of Toyland SF! Some of us are trying to make a living with this stuff. And while you're at it, add ReWire and DXi compatibility in 4.0!!! That is, if you really want to get out of the toy biz... |
