Forcing Project & Render Properties to Match Src

kraz wrote on 12/20/2011, 6:05 AM
I am making a video that will be using mpegs generated by Proshow (photodex.com) - and I will only be adding in audio and some minor effect to small parts.

I want to set it up - that when it makes the mpeg final product - I want to to NOT re-render. "No Recompression required"

Usually the no need to re-render only works for me when I take an MPEG that I made in Vegas and put it back in Vegas - here my source is NOT from Vegas. But a different Creation software.

I have tried to manually change the video settings to match the specs of the source file but it still recompresses.

I'm sure I am missing something silly.

Thanks
Allen

Since I got no replies I thought maybe I did not explain it well enough

is there any way with MPeg to not have it recompile - even if the original was not created in Vegas

Could you post the Mediainfo analysis of your MPEG file?

The most critical factors for a successful smart-render are resolution and PAR, frame rate, field order, and average bitrate.

Well first I had to figure out what MiediaInfo was - but I did - and here it is - I hope its the right format.

Thanks

is this the right data?

Try with constans bitrate (CBR) instead of VBR.
I can smartrender mpeg files in Vegas which came from Procoder.
PeterDuke wrote on 12/27/2011, 7:15 PM
The video bit rate looks a shade high. Can it be dropped to 6 to 8 Mbps?

In theory I can make changes in proshow when I generate the file to be whatever I like.

What settings would you recommend I do on Pro-show that will get me to a state in vegas that it will not re-render?

Thanks
Allen
