Hi
Canon RAW codec does not support 64bit.
Use this MS codec pack and all will work well.

Just need to remember the RAW files are quite big for vegas to handle, I normally covert to Jpeg at project resolution, makes editing much smoother.

See Canon 60D RAW import not working V10/11 64 bit

In short the same issue. Canon blames MS, MS blames Canon. The codec download has not worked for myself and others - within 64 bit OS that is. So I use something that works: Canon RAW CR2 CODEC for 64-bit and 32-bit Windows

I always convert from camera specific raw to generic dng raw using the free adobe converter:

http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=106&platform=Windows

The quality is the same, the files are a little smaller, and they seem to be more compatible with Zoner (which I use for quick fixes that would take longer in Photoshop.)

Thanks for your help and I will give it a try. My only interest is that the raw files are 16 bit so selecting 32 bit floating point will yield a higher quality finished output than 8 bit.

Great tip,
I have photoshop and can open raw files in that so I will try saving the files as DNG files to see if they import.
