Subject:curious about recording...

i'm pretty new to the whole acid thing, so i was wondering if it's possible to record a track and then listen to it WHILE you're recording another one (basically like laying down tracks in a studio). it doesn't seem like you could since the audio is already in use...but if there is a way around this or this just isn't possible, someone please let me know. thanks

If you're using ACID 3, make sure that the Monitor checkbox is checked in the Record dialog box. This allows you to monitor the levels of your audio as you record it in. Otherwise, most sound cards support the ability to playback the audio while you record, and this is automatic in ACID 3. In ACID 2, there was a Play While Recording checkbox that needed to be enabled in the Record dialog box as well.
