Using PowerPoint slides in Vegas?

I've done some searches and seen some posts outside of the forum here, but don't seem to find any in this forum regarding PowerPoint. Do any of you use PowerPoint slides in your videos? Or, do you use Vegas to enhance the slide show you create in Vegas?

I do PowerPoint slides for our church's Sunday announcements. We then import the slide show into MediaShout. I'm wondering about things that would enhance the slide show if I created it as a video.

Tonight, I saved my PowerPoint slides as .PNG pictures and then pulled them into the timeline. I played with lengthening some of the slides' timing (because they had more information on them), did some basic cross fades, and even had one that started as a closeup of a dog's nose and then zoomed out to show a picture of 'Balto'.

Try PowerPoint to Video Converter to convert PPT presentations to video.

If all you want is stills, there's a registry hack http://blog.davidesp.com/archives/255 to increase the resolution PowerPoint exports. Export to .png because traditionally at least, Vegas copes better with that than .jpg.

I've downloaded a trial version, but I can't figure out how to pull a PowerPoint file in.

Here's a Power Point script that will extract all images from a PPT file.

We use Mediashout too. One additional thing you can do to improve quality
is to render in the same resolution as your projectors.

I have a campaign in our church to accept PNG only. (again same resolution)
With powerful tools such as the free GIMP for creating graphics, can't see reasons
to resist. (I still convert a few)

Eventually, we want to upgrade to HD (720P) and the switcher will not accept ppt.
