Subject:Drum Components:RADS - any good??

I want to make my own beat loops - basically construct it with sixteenth
note at a time to build up loops w/ packaged "elementary" drum sounds.
- bass drum, snare, etc.. (as opposed to construction of loops whole
measures like w/ standard acid). Is "Drum Components:RADS" the
thing that I'm looking for?
Thanks
Paul

In a word-- yes, this is probably what you're looking for, especially in the absence of a good drummer at your disposal. I've found it to be pretty comprehensive.

Hello,

I have RADS, and I like it, but it is very time consuming and hard to use, because you have to be able to understand the format of how they title each loop.
Also, it takes alot of tracks to make a good drum track out of it, But once you get the sound you want, you can bounce all those drum tracks or part of them down to one track.

But, all in all it is a good library.

See ya, Rockit

Yea its ok. But they only used 1 drum kit, so even though there are tons of variations, they all have the same tone, so if you don't like the tone, your screwed, and will need to do a lot of sound edit.

...you could always try Fruity Loops and build your own. Its a great complimentary tool to use for Acid loop building.

It sounds like you're looking for One-Shot types of tracks so you can make your own percussive rhythms. Am I correct in assuming this? I do this a lot myself.

Don't know for sure, but I do know that there are a couple of libraries that have One-Shots included, like Industrial Toolkit (Methods of Mayhem). Lots of nice percussive sounds in there. Think the Techno packs have them as well. (Can't confirm that offhand though.)
