Subject:Sound Forge 10.0 freezes

I installed Sound forge 10.0 on my windows 7 64 bit pc. when i launch the program it freezes at initialing directx plugins. I have to use alt control delete to clear my screen. ANY help would be great. |

Can you be more specific? It's like asking,"my car doesn't start, what's wrong with it?" New SF or other applications installed? new OS? Plug-ins? Your System specs should be entered in your profile as well. That said, have you tried: - Shutting down anti-virus - Shutting down other apps that are running in the background - 'Uninstall> clean registry> re-install' |

hi sorry im running window 7 64 bit os. i installed sf , with vocal eraser, & audio enhancer that came with the sf cd. i have not yet to be able to open the program. when i try to open it , the sf logo screen comes up & stops loading at initializing directx plug ins. i made sure i had the newest version of directx plugings . i tried shutting down norton. not sure what apps i need to shut down. |

The same happens to my sf10. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, but it stil can't open. When I used it a couple of months ago, it worked fine. Any idea what's going on? Message last edited on11/27/2011 10:14:39 AM byNinan. |

Have yo installed or updated any DX plugins since your last successful startup ? Could be a broken plugin.... geoff |

@Bustluvr, any success? I haven't discovered any broken plugin. SF10 doesn't want to open. SF9 opens and works ok, but id doesn't cooperate with the vocal eraser which I need. |

nope still doesnt work. i had sf 9 & i had the same problem i figured it wasnt compatible with my windows 7 64 bit pc |

It seems I found the solution in the knowledgebase. I've right clicked the icon of the program and chose "open as administrator". Then I entered the serial number and opened it.
