After Effects render to edit in Vegas

Have footage I want to render/export so that I can edit it in Vegas. What format should i do? I've always done avi in the past but it's just too darn big on this one. I thought mxf would be great but Vegas doesn't like it. Help please - thanks!
(and yes, i want to stay 1920x1080 30p or 24p)

I've always went to AVI uncompress..yes the file is big but my segments are 10-30 seconds long and I don't wan to re-compress again in vegas.

Internet and bluray is final output. But will need to archive for future too

I use CineForm to transfer video footage between After Effects and Vegas and it always works out great.

If the AE footage is purely graphical (i.e., computer generated) I'll use the QuickTime Animation codec. This is what it was designed to do.
