I'm guessing it might refer to "phase rotation", I'm not at my editing computer right now. Phase rotation can help with asymmetrical waveforms, making them more symmetrical, or inverting the waveform phase. In my old days in radio, we used phase rotators to preprocess audio before it hit the compressor/limiters to let the compressor limiters work more efficiently and produce a "louder" signal. Do a Google for "audio phase rotators", and you should find a full explanation. I'll take a look at SF when I get home an play with it. I never noticed it in SF. Thanks for mentioning it. |

Nope, not intended phasing at all, though i suppose if you were really desperate you might just be able to shift the phase of a simple wave form with it. From the help pages: Rotate Audio: click to change the feel of a given loop by moving the selection to the opposite end of the file. This command has no effect if the selection does not touch the beginning of end of the file. So, let's say you had 8 beats on the screen "12345678" but you want it to start at beat 3 and end with beat 2. Select the first two beats and then Process / Rotate. You'll end up with "34567812". |

Ahhhh....... Should have asked the cat. She probably edits after I hit the sack. I've caught her coughing up loops more than once. |
