Lay out track using timecode in "one track"

Hey

About the options
"Lay out tracks using media time code"
and
"Lay out tracks using media Date/time stamp"

I have clips from 3 cameras and want to do a multi cam edit.
2 of the cameras wasn't shot continually but went one and of many times.

I edited the project using media time code and Vegas worked flawlessly and gave me 3 tracks - one for each camera - with the 2 "on/off" camera clips being laid out perfectly on one track each and the 3rd camera that was on for the entire concert.
I all synced and I was one very happy editor :)

No problem. project done !

Last night
I wanted to show a friend who's considering buying Vegas that wonderful feature
I started a new project and wanted to add the clips again.

BUT now when a select all of the clips and press "Lay out tracks using media time code" it created +400 tracks !?! one for each clip !

I tried with the "Ignore event grouping" on and off and "Qauntize to frames" on and off ... but it doesn´'t help.

So where is the button that toggles
"Lay out track using timecode in "ONE TRACK"
and
"Lay out track using timecode in "separate tracks" ???

Did you ever find a solution for your problem?
If not, just make sure the clips have the same "tape name". You may have to rename them. Easy to do. Just go to "Project Media" view "details", then scroll right until you see "Name" Change appropriate clips.

7 years passed but problem is still here. Unable to rename tape names for multiple files. Still have to do it by hands for each file. MAGIX! Maybe just add an option to ignore this ye olde Tape Name or to group rename it?
