NewBlue Titler not working without GPU support

smhontz wrote on 10/20/2011, 4:37 PM
Was really looking forward to using this titler, but haven't been too lucky. Apparently it won't run without some sort of GPU support builtin. One system - an HP Pavilion with Vista 64, it simply says "Titler can't work due to low GPU capabilities." That system had less than 512MB video memory, so I guess it doesn't meet the minimum requirements.

A newer HP Pavilion (Win 7 64bit) with the Intel HD chipset and 1.696 GB of RAM looked more promising. When I drop a NewBlue media on the timeline, it warns me "Your GPU does not meet the minimum requirements...", but at least the dialog box with all the options comes up. However, as soon as I click on the library tab, it blows Vegas right out of the water.

Anybody have an experience with plugging one of the NewBlue-supported graphics card into an HP P7-1047CB?

If it is a supported board e.g. nvidia compute score greater than 2.0 and it works in the box, vegas and new blue should work.

I have a nvidia GTX 460 in a home built machine with an ASUS P6 motherboard and quad core i7-920. New Blue, GPU preview, and GPU rendering are working fine. .

I have the Radion HD 4670 that works fine with New Blue.

I created a new logo with it.

Has anyone found where to turn on a safe title guide in newblue titler itself? I do have it turned on in my main Vegas preview window.

Your problem is "Intel". The Intel video processors do not work correctly.

I wonder if this is why NewBlue Titler Pro CRASHES on my Mac/Windows 7 via Parallels 7?
(2 x 3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon)

I was thinking it was my Video Cards:
ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT

- Possibly both?

This leads me to 2 questions

1. Since the NewBlue can not be tested in trial (as I just found out after installing it) how can I know if it will work on my setup.

2. I sometimes do some Vegas work inside of Vmware (workstation 7.0) - should I assume that NewBlue won't work since it is a virtual video card?

Thanks
Allen

If you're having a problem with Titler Pro, the best thing you can do is start a help ticket at newbluefx.com so we can figure out what is happening.

Jetdv,

Do you work for NewBlue? I want to try the NewBlue Pro Titler with Vegas 11 for 30 days (or less if I like it and it works). NewBlue Pro Titler is the most desireable upgrade feature for me but I hear you must have a fairly new computer to get it to work. Pllease advise. Thanx.

Yes, I work for NewBlue. It should work fine with any relatively new computer (a known exception is Intel video cards). Unfortunately there is no trial version as you must use the a serial number provided by Sony in order to complete the installation process.

Nearly all the editing I do is on my Mac. If I need Vegas/Windows 7 it's via Parallels. Needless to say... I'd love to get the NewBlue Titler Pro working on my rig to compliment my various NLE workflows. It looks to give quicker results than going into Boris RED, Zaxwerks, or After Effects. which equates to a better ROI & making more money!

But it may be a long wait to get Cross Platform support on a Windows only software.
but I'm keeping my fingers crossed tightly.

My laptop uses an Intel chip set including its graphics chip. New Blue Titler does not work with it. However, my main machine has a GTX 570 and its working fine on there. You do need some kind of GPU support in your machine to use it.

Paul.

I have a Nvidia GTS 450 with latest drivers and the latest build of NewBlue Titler. It loads but crashes out when I try to do anything in the slightest bit demanding, such as preview transitions by holding cursor over the various transitions provided.

When it crashes it takes Vegas with it, of course.

Have opened ticket with NewBlue.

No problems with Vegas 11 itself thus far.

EDIT:- I have done some testing with GPU support turned OFF in Vegas, and NewBlue Titler Pro seems, at the moment, to be more stable without GPU!

Re turning off GPU support within VP11: I have been told by NewBlue support that "The Vegas GPU switch will make no difference to Titler. Titler uses it's own GPU methods".

Whatever I do, NewBlue Titler Pro keeps crashing out after a few minutes use. I am beginning to think I've made a dreadful mistake. As a pensioner, funds are limited. But I decided to upgrade to VP11 as I liked the look of the NB Titler. Then I found my video card did not provide GPU support. My local shop sold me a Nvidia Geoforce GTS 450, then I found my PSU was inadequate so I had to buy and install a new PSU. Now I find the whole blinking thing won't work!

By the way, I have downloaded and installed the latest Nvidia drivers.

I know my local store will exchange the video card. But I cannot spend much more. What card should I aim for? Thanks

How about something like:

For minimum requirements:

* At least an nVidia GeForce 6 or an ATI Radeon X1300

For recommended requirements:

* At least an nVidia GeForce 8 or an ATI Radeon HD 2000

I'm running a GeoForce GT 540m /2 gig ram on my laptop and Titler won't run. Supposedly, this card hits the computability rating for Vegas 11 but won't work with NB Titler.

the newblue titler faq's states that unfortunately, the intel hd graphic chips are not powerful enough to support all the features of titler ex...my laptop just has an amd radeon hd 6370 and luckily that passes...
