ASIO sample rate not supported M-Audio -Sound Forge - PC

I just bought and downloaded Sound Forge 10, and am using Vegas 10 64 bit. I have Windows 64 Bit ultimate, and an M-Audio Fast Track Pro USB audio card. When I start Sound Forge I get the error "The ASIO sample rate is not supported by one of the USB interfaces! Please check your sync settings in the Control Panel" I don't know what to do. I have tried reinstalling the drivers for M-Audio. I have tried changing the sample rate to 16 bit (from 24 bit). Nothing seems to work. Any help?

Do you by some chance have more than 1 audio interface on your computer, like maybe an onboard soundcard? If so, disable that and try again. Other than that you should have no problems as your interface supports all normal sample rates up to 96 KHz. I suggest reading your interface manual and trying again. The error message you state has no meaning as there is no one 'ASIO sample rate'. ASIO is the interface software driver for high performance just like WDM is the stock Microsoft driver software for an audio interface. Jack
