ProType Titler, RIP. The following was all done in the new Sony Text generator - in a familiar user interface. I also see there's a new Credit Roll - haven't had time to fiddle with it yet.
It's worth the price of the upgrade just to get the NB Titler. I've spent hours fussing around with ProType and still have just marginal proficiency with it : (
If you go here http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegaspro and scroll down the the New Blue Titler you can click on a 12 minute tutorial explaining how it functions. It looks like a good well thought out piece of software.

Based on NewBlue's retail ($199) for the titler, it's worth the price of the upgrade (though for me, the GPU acceleration for previews was enough).
The NewBlue titler is easier to pick up than the ProType, and with a little finesse (re: less is more) has some REALLY nice features.
If I were a cranky old fart (you know who you are) I'd say these are features that should have been included in Vegas to begin with, but SCS is listening, and even better, they're delivering. So...nice.
Honestly, while it won't be true in all cases, I'm working on a project where the NewBlue Titler will supplant my need to use After Effects (thank God...one less file to deal with).
Whoops, I make a confusing post and then go to bed. My bad!
I was speaking of an entirely new integrated text generator that is not the NewBlue titler. The old text generator (marked as "legacy") and the ProType Titler are still there.
Certainly this is not as powerful as the NewBlue titler. Here's a screen print of the Sony Text Panel:
well from my little bit of playing i think you could happily dump ptt and incorporate nb. this is the sort of titler i've wanted since using the on line version of inscriber some 15 years ago.
Has someone at SCS developed a titler fetish? As they are introducing their own new titler, and have improved PTT, the NB titler seems a bizarre giveaway. Maybe they could have saved themselves the effort with their own plugins.
