I am trying to put my father's albums on my computer. I have followed the tutorial of how to set up my turntable to my preamplifier to my input of my sound card. I open sound forge (9.0) and go to record but the meters really don't show anything is coming in and when i stop the recording and try to play its a flat line. What am I doing wrong? |

Do you have the right recording device selected in SF Preferences? Do you have the right recording input enabled in your sound interface Properties? Usually that's all it takes. Message last edited on10/14/2011 10:10:40 PM bymusicvid10. |

The only thing I'm not sure of is the Preferences in Sound Forge, I left it as the Microsoft Mapper which was the default when I opened the program it gives me options for up to 32 different sets. The other options are Direct Sound and Window's Classic Wave Driver. Does it matter which one I pick? I only have two places for audio input the from of my computer and the back(thru the sound card) |

Are you sure the input jack on the sound card is for Line In, and not Mic? |
