Hello: I would like to process a clean electric guitar to simulate an acoustic guitar. I thought that I could do this using the acoustic mirror function. What I planned to do was to put a pickup in my acoustic guitar and record a note, with the pickup as the "test tone" and the miced signal as the "space signal". Has anyone done this or have worked with the acoustic mirror function? Thanks! |

You would be better off trying some EQ along with a very slight amount of chorus, flange and/or other process to 'simulate' the acoustic guitar sound. |

Ok, my original idea did not work. I could not get SF to recognize the pickup track as a test tone. So I played the 24 sec test tone from the CD ROM while I stuck an SDC mic into the cavity of my acoustic guitar. I had to sync up the tracks because there was a few msec delay. After performing the recover function in Acoustic Mirror, I got a file that I could process the electric guitar track with. If anyone is interested, I'll post a before and after clip. |
