Subject:Something makes my sample sound weird?

I have a voice sample, when i play it in other programs it sounds as expected, and normal.

However when I play it in Acid Music Studio 8 it sounds odd, like there is some sort of metallic echo over it.

I'm not yet familiar enough with this software to know if there is something switched on, or why it distorts it like this.

Any idea how I can get it to sound normal?

Is this a sample you've made? If this is the case, more than likely it was ACIDized.

ACIDization is the act of inserting a bit of metadata that ACID "reads" for its timestretching and/or key stretching capabilities.

There are three types of ACIDized digital audio: Loops (most common), Beatmapped and One-shots. Loop and Beatmapped samples can adhere to tempo or key changes; One-shots are the only form of audio that do not change with overall project tempo and key changes. (In other words, what you hear is what you get regardless of tempo or key. One-shots will always sound the same.)

If this is the case, access your clip's properties and change the ACID type to "One-shot".

yeah, I just recorded it with a mike (in another program though).

However I think the one-shot did the trick. Thanks.
