I've heard some people say you can't use SoundForge 5.0 with Windows 98. The listed req's say it must be 98SE. But I've heard some people say they have no problems with regular Windows 98. What's the story? Thanks, Cracker |

I don't what kind of people you've been talking to because that's bull****! Would you believe i'm running SF5.0 on a five year-old P-166 MMX with 64MB of RAM, Win98 AND it runs smooth? You do need Direct-X 6.0 or better and RuntimeMedia. It may or may not run on Win 95. I don't know because I hate 95 and no longer know anyone who still has it. Maybe these people were trying to get you to buy another computer or upgrade your Windows. They could have had an alterior motive. Just read the requirments on the box, go a bit lower than the listed requierments, and you have your real requierments. Happy editing! |

I would like to point out that if you are using our software on an operating system that is not supported it would be very difficult for Technical Support to be able to assist in troubleshooting problems that you may encounter. They would only really be able to give some general suggestions as to how to resolve your problems. This is because if the operating system is not supported then it means that the application has never been extensively tested on it. This is not to say that the program will not run but we cannot make any guarantees to the stability or usability of the software. If the system requirements specifically state Win98 SE then I would reccomend using it under Win98 SE. |

Thank you both for replying, you both make good points. But with my puny little brain, I'm a fan of support. I was looking forward to getting Soundforge too. Dang. Cheers, Cracker |
