Subject:Getting your dang serial number!

Anyone know how to get your serial number when you do a download upgrade from Sony? They never sent me a email and it's not in my account. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance! If I use their customer service database, it asks me for a......yeah, serial number. I can't even use it yet to actually discuss real technical issues. |

That's odd. I've never found 'it' hard. So it's not shown in My Account | My Software on the menu bar above ? Did you enter the correct email when purchasing and the same one when registering your forums/website account ? Did you ask Sony Customer Support ? geoff |

Geoff, the serial numbers aren't shown under My Software until *after* registering. If you don't receive it to begin with, you can't register it so it won't be shown. I've always thought that My Orders should show the serial numbers. That would avoid the problem completely. |

If it was registered properly, at the top of this page go to: "My account> My Software" re-enter your SCS account/forums password if prompted. The My Software list should display all your SCS software, serial numbers and links to the latest build updates. What's difficult about that? Otherwise contact Customer Service. Unlike SCS tech support, CS responds, and are usually very helpful and accommodating. Message last edited on9/22/2011 2:01:53 PM byrraud. |

But, you can't register the software without getting your serial number first. So if you don't get the email with the serial number, it won't be in My Software to be retrieved. That's the problem here. |

I suspect a significant factor is the type of person who gives himself a bolshy forum name like "Sony makes it hard', who somehow doesn't receive his serial number where pretty much everybody else apparently does receive theirs without problems..... If that's not actually the case, then I take it all back and poke myself in the eye. geoff |
