Subject:glitching..popping Posted by: firstfry Date:9/26/2001 8:48:30 AM on my computer..dont know about everyone else,the gliching and popping i get when i change volume or pitch etc is acid trying to catch up,it seems when i change volume it clicks its way to the change then goes away after change is done,acid 1.0 is looking better and better everyday...any suggestions sf?

Yes if that is the case, the software is trying to play catchup, to accomendate the changes being made during playback. I use Acid Pro 2 and notice that when I make changes to a loop while the song is playing that it slows the tune down and may glitch for just a moment. But as soon as I stop playing with it, the glitch goes away. If you need to make changes to a single track while playing, hit the solo button on that track and make the adjustments accordingly then undo the solo button bringing back up the rest of the mix. Hopefully something as simple as this will help with your problem, if not, please repost with more detail and we'll take it from there. Thanks, Maninblac4
Subject:RE: glitching..popping Reply by: Mrx41862 Date:9/26/2001 4:38:37 PM It's the computer playing catchup....try the newest drivers for your sound and video cards, also here'a a little trick....minimize as many things on screen as possible that have to do graphic redraws. Size the wav files down so the screen doesn't have to redraw, slide down the masterfader so you don't see any clipping meters after you get your levels set...all these things help you eeek out a little more power from your processor. I have P3-933 w/768 megs of ram and when I get into lots of large wav files and cuts and pastes and plugins in the teens, my machine starts doing the same thing. And one more trick is if you have a bunch of files that are cut up, try joining them as much as possible it's less info your processor has to look at. Hope all that helps.
