I use Music Studio 7.0. What I am trying is this: I download Karoake backgrounds, change the key in Music Studio to suit my voice, then play along with the song on my guitar. My problem is this: Once the key has been changed, the tuning between the guitar and the music always seems to be off a little bit. I could change the guitar to match the music, but I would prefer to change the music to match the tuning of my guitar. Is there a way to do this? Thanks, bloodtrakker |

When you say the tuning is off, by what measure is it off? Cents? Semitones? Is your guitar tuned to a standard tuning? Iacobus |

My guitar has standard tuning, and I really don't know in what way it's off. It just doesn't sound like it's in tune with the downloaded Karaoke songs, though it is in tune with my piano. I should mention that it sounds fine before I do the key change - but afterwards it sounds off. I thought perhaps that the key change might be causing the download to be a little off, and that there might be a way to "nudge" it up or down to match the guitar...... |

If your guitar sounds fine against the piano, it almost sounds like the samples used are not in tune. (Assuming, of course, the piano is in tune as well.) :) You can adjust pitch at the event level (by semitones and cents) though I would stress that you should have the sample properly ACIDized first. Access the clip's properties and then under the "General" tab, set the pitch under "Pitch shift (semitones)." Iacobus |
