OT: My first impressions with Vimeo Pro

Hi

I just subscribed yesterday to Vimeo Pro. I have so far just made one portfolio, which is not finished yet, but you can get an idea of what you can do inside if you want to take a look:

http://vimeopro.com/ezzenz/uella

You can make custom backgrounds, chose different fonts, color and size for text, chose the layout of the page from several premade designs etc.
You can also customize the player whether viewers should be able to retrieve the embedded code, and from which domains it is allowed to view the videos and lots of other settings.

I have not been arround the whole thing yet, but so far for me it is very well worth the $199 per year.

If anybody have any specific questions, I will be happy to try and find out from inside my account. :)

I also signed up for Pro yesterday. There have been problems on their end processing the video after the upload. Not on everything just one when I did it at 6pm PST. They are also having URL issues. They sent me an emails saying your video is ready here. But here did not work on most browsers and most OS's I tried it on. I know it's more expensive but I'm going to try Vzaar. At least with Vimeo Pro you have 30 days to ask for a refund. After all the URL problems which I confirmed with an iPhone over 3G and my home Comcast broadband connection. I requested a refund.

Strange....I have had no problems yet, just uploaded another video this morning on a brand new created portfolio. Even on my iPhone 4 it is good quality...

I've been using the old $60 Vimeo Pro deal for over a year and have nothing but praise for it. Looks great on everything: PC, iPad, phone, android tablet, etc.

Is there any difference in the quality of video one can upload?
I saw no reference to this in the description.
Thanks,
Randy

You are allowed to upload larger files, which because of this larger allowed size can be higher bitrate. That is where the increase in quality comes from. Also, Pro account files will play on an iPad or other HTML 5 device whereas regular account files will not.

Does anyone know if Vimeo Pro allows viewers to download the file? I'm interested in the option of using Vimeo Pro as a distribution system for videos, and I didn't see any mention of this on the Vimeo Pro summary.

Yes, pro accounts will allow you to make your original files that you upload downloadable.
