Subject:How to Divide a Large File

Is there a better way to divide a large file (over an hour long) in half than what I've been attempting to do in ACID 5.0? I'd like to save each half as a seperate file.

I've been opening the original large file, "painting" it in (takes a loooong time to fill in that way), then going back to find a halfway point, erasing and then deleting the half I don't want so that I can save what's left as a seperate file.

Click the Paint Tool if not already active; hold down Ctrl on your keyboard while you click on the timeline.

Place a marker where you want to "split" the track. Double-click the area before the marker tab. Solo the track (if you have to provided you have other tracks in your project). Press Ctrl + M and use the "render loop region only" option.

Double-click the area after the marker tab and do the same thing (using Ctrl +M).

Thanks! I'll try that.
