Subject:WAV to MP3

Hi,

I am a relative newcomer to this.

I am trying to save a WAV file to MP3 for the smaller file size for use on a web site. The clip will be looped and my problem is that when I save it to MP3, it creates a small blank space at the beginning and end of the file, leaving a broken sound in the loop.

Help, I don't know how to fix this??

When you first open an mp3 file save it to the .wav format BEFORE you loop it. THEN resave it to mp3.

The adding of space to mp3 is normal.

I guess the problem I am having is unfixable if the space is normal with the MP3 format.

I thought of your idea, but here is my predicament.

The MP3 file is going to be associated with the a Flash 5.0 intro to a web site. Being on the web, I want the smallest file size possible. The clip I have is 13 seconds long and the intro is 45 seconds long. Thus, I want to keep the clip at 13 seconds for a smaller file size, but loop it 3 and a bit times to cover the whole intro. If I save the 13 second clip as an MP3 file, when it loops, there is a break with those blank spots.

I'm not sure what I am going to do.

Thanks for your help beetle.

I've never used Flash. Can you use .wma files instead of MP3? If so, copy the entire wave file and paste it at the end of the file 3 more times, and create a fade out to the 45-second mark.

If you can't use .wma, you may be able to use one of the other file types that SF can save. I only suggest Windows Media because it can make smaller file sizes than MP3 in most instances.
