Do you have a CD-R or CD-RW drive??? You mention CD-ROM, which will not record. Sorry, but I need to rant a bit here. There have been many discussions in this forum about newbies. I'm jumping on the bandwagon. I'm sure that a lot of these newbies (but not ALL) got the software illegitametely. Ted, if you need to, edit as necessary. We all started out knowing nothing, but learned something by READING whatever came with the software. Readme file, manual, PDF file, whatever. People now expect software to do EVERYTHING for them without any input whatsoever. Now it's the "I need to know it NOW" mentality. Patience is a virtue. ***READ THE HELP FILE*** If you are running SF 5.0, this has one of the most complete help files I've ever seen. Read it. Know it. Love it. Live it. Any questions? |

Well I agree with Kryten but It looks like you need a jump start for your CD burner. I use Sony CD extreme. This is the way I copy anything to a CD. 1. Open Windows Explorer and minimize. 2. Open your CD burner program select what you want to do then drag your file from Explorer to your CD list. Dave M |

You mean you can't just drag and drop files on your CDrom drive and have them appended to my N'sync cdrom that's in my cdrom drive? This software sucks, I want my money back!!! I can do this on my hard drives...how come sound forge won't let me do this? It says it allows me to burn my own music to CD!!! Wahh...Wahh....Wahhhhhhhh Psssst......How can I remove the vocals using sound forge from my Backstreet boys CD collection, so I can make my own Karokee Cd's? LOL!!!! |

I'll have to disagree with kryton on ONE point. I don't think most of these newbies are getting the software illegally. It's just that SF and others have become so cheap that just anyone can walk into Best Buy and buy SF for $99. I think for the most part we should assume that the software is legit. Also, a lot of people mess with this stuff without knowing or understanding how Windows works. When I first started this I read everything I could get my hands on about audio on computers and learned about using Windows on my own as I went along. But the bottom line is that you MUST read the help files and/or manual! They didn't include them just to increase the size of the installation, it's there to HELP you! |
