Subject:error message when attempting process or effect

I'm having some difficulty with SF10.0c. I'll pull a file into the program (usually by drag-and-drop to a new window) and attempt to apply some effect or process to the file. I'll wind up with the following error message:

"an error occurred during the current operation. the item was not found."

after several attempts to repeat the above process (drag, drop, process or effect), the only way to get it done is to close the program altogether, reopen the program and make another attempt. at this point, it'll work. then using a different file, the same error comes up.

this is getting really frustrating as it happens on my workstation at work and my home workstation (both 32-bit win 7 pro machines).

any ideas? has this happened to anyone else?

I've been trying to repro but cannot seem to do so. (I'm running on a Vista Ultimate 64-bit machine, however.)

I drag a WAV file right into SF's workspace and then apply any effect or process and it works fine.

I should have mentioned it's intermittent. sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.

Hi Joe, I've experienced this, too. It's very intermittent alright, but as far as I recall, if I either save the file (so that it has a proper filename) or save, close and re-open the file, it then allows you to perform whatever task it was denying you.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Walt
