Another thing to check is to make sure that all of the I/O of the card is showing up properly within Windows. To do this you can go to start>settings>control panel>mulitmedia or sounds and multimedia (depends on what OS you are running)>audio tab. Look under the playback and recording drop down lists to ensure that your system is seeing all of the inputs.

Yeah... that's what I mean. All 24 tracks show up when I use the MOTU WDM driver in Sonar, but only get two of the three banks of 8 channels when using the MME compatibility drivers .

Do you know the difference between a Track and an Input/Output channel? 2 totally different thingys

I talked
With Jake Harrah of tech support he's looking into why only 20 of 24 wavedrivers show up in Vegas.

I'm suspecting that the MOTU MME drivers only expose 16 of the 24 available channels. All programs that I have only show the 16 channels, including the windows control panel.

The MOTU ASIO and WDM drivers work fine with all 24 i/o channels in Sonar .

I'm going to try and confirm this with MOTU.

Well anyway... it may be related to a Windows 2000 imposed limit in the number of MME audio devices. That would explain why I saw only 16 channels ( 8 stereo devices ) from my MOTU. My system also shows a device from a stupid modem with voice stuff and the Diamondmax soundcard I use for system sounds. That's a total of 10 devices. Explains also why someone else said that they had 20 channels ( 10 stereo devices ) from their MOTU.

Hard ( not really ) to believe that Microsoft would impose such limits on W2000, when 98 / ME don't.

You have to go to "Multimedia" settings and choose not to Use, or Map
through those other devices. I regularly dump 24 trax of audio simultaniously
from (3) Tascam DA-88's through my Motu2408 into Vegas with out so
much as a Hicup!! Works GREAT!!!!

I have a MOTU 2408 running under Windows 2000. Only 16 of the 24 tracks show up in Vegas Video. Anybody know if this is a MOTU driver issue or a Vegas issue?

Alls I can say is.....SON-OF-A-BITCH!!!
I was finally excited that MOTU came out with win2k drivers for my Midi interface. My Echo Gina Cards also have win2k drivers, Vegas is supported under Win2k. My Scsi card has Win2k drivers. I thought I was FINALLY ready to move to a Win2k DAW system!!! Now a limitation of Win2k where all my I/O won't be usuable. Ok, I hope everyone can play on the same team come Windows XP, I've given up on that Win2k machine.
