No sound from .avc files In Architect 5

Trying to produce video for Neices wedding

Tried 3 times now to 'Make Movie' (bluray and DVD) from Vegas Home Studio 11 to disk, then to publish from Architect 5 .....

Pal, HD 1080-50i (1920x1080, 25.000 fps), 'best' video and audio.

Tried 3 different chapters of the video - and there is no sound when using the .avc files in Architect.

I'm sure i'm missing something - but can't see what it is .......

You should render out the video and audio as separate files.

Did you put the audio in a separate file like I said?

The audio can also be with the video, but will be ignored as you have found.

Cheers

Thanks - have rendered the sound seperately - but how do I add it into the project in Architect - I can find any reference in the tutorials or help file for adding sound tracks!

In the Button Properties Menu there is only the facility to direct to either the Video or audio file - not both ..... at least not that I can see!

Sorry for being a bit thick :-)

If the audio file has the same stem name as the video file they will get loaded at the same time. If you are adding the audio afterwards (or has a different name), double click on the video to put it on the timeline, and then drag the audio from the explorer to its place on the timeline. The audio should be in .ac3 format.

Cheers Peter - just rerendering again after doing some fine tuning in Vegas - should be able to try it in 30/40 mins :-)

Actually I am now experiencing this same problem and I'm burning a DVD in DVDA 5. Have never had an issue until now running Vegas 10 E.

Do you see the audio track on the timeline in DVDA or just the video only?

If it is the same problem then it has the same solution: render your video and audio separately using the same filename stem. The video will have a .mpg extension and the audio will have a .ac3 extension.

My memory may be false but an earlier version of DVDA might have accepted a combined video and audio file but it would re-render the audio.

Yeah I do render them separate.
All that shows up is a single line. I rendered it as a different file name and it worked.
I then renamed it to the same file name as the video.
I did another test doing the file names the same back to back and it was the same single flat line with no audio.
This has never happened before.
