I need to get better at mixing. I do spend a lot of time on levels and panning and working harder on EQ and compression techniques. (Reverb seems to be a huge and important element that could make or break a mix). However, as with anything musical, you can always do it better! And I need to as I can't afford to get a pro to do it. I like Acid Pro. I'm used to it and it fulfils multitracking tasks quite easily. I don't work it that hard. At the moment my mode of operation is direct to soundcard with electric guitar and bass. Then Acid loops for drums and other assorted sounds. No mic's used. Recently I got myself some decent monitors off Ebay so that critical element is taken care of too. Do you guys/girls record and mix your own stuff? Did you teach yourself? Thanks |

I do my mixing in acid, the key is room acoustics, good converters, multiple monitors, refrence tracks and alot of patience. www.youtube.com/jseriousonline check me out, all tracks made and mixed with acid pro 7, and you can hear what the judges thought. |
