Just upgraded to Acid Pro 3b and now when I play sample loops I get a screech instead of the sample. When I drag the loop onto the timeline I can hear the sound fine.

Any idea what is going on?

What kind of sound card are you using? Updating the drivers for it and your video card might help things. I did have another case where someone's sound card drivers didn't like to preview in ACID. For most cards, this doesn't seem to be a problem (and I can't recall the actual card at this point). Also, make sure that in Options -> Preferences -> Audio that your Audio Device Type is set to Windows Classic Wave Driver. Anyone else with problems like these?

I believe bigmike is experiencing that bug where mono loops won't preview correctly but stereo loops will within the Explorer window.

Instead of hearing the actual loop, all that plays is a really annoying, distorted synth stab-type sound.

Right, that's the mono one-shot bug. I was thinking this was something more general, but mD's right, I bet.

I am also experiencing this annoying sound on some loops and one-shots.
If I play these same .WAVs through another programme (like Cool Edit, or even Microsoft Sound Recorder), they play O.K. - it's just ACID Pro 3 that seems to be the problem.
I am using the Soundblaster Live Platinum 5 card with the latest drivers and Liveware 3, on an Intel 1GHz powered machine running Win2K, 512Mb RAM.
This is a very frustrating problem and is causing me some concern, particularly having spent several hundred pounds on Acid loops this week - I would appreciate some urgent advice on this.
