Just upgraded to Acid Pro 3b and now when I play sample loops I get a screech instead of the sample. When I drag the loop onto the timeline I can hear the sound fine. Any idea what is going on? |

What kind of sound card are you using? Updating the drivers for it and your video card might help things. I did have another case where someone's sound card drivers didn't like to preview in ACID. For most cards, this doesn't seem to be a problem (and I can't recall the actual card at this point). Also, make sure that in Options -> Preferences -> Audio that your Audio Device Type is set to Windows Classic Wave Driver. Anyone else with problems like these? |

I believe bigmike is experiencing that bug where mono loops won't preview correctly but stereo loops will within the Explorer window. Instead of hearing the actual loop, all that plays is a really annoying, distorted synth stab-type sound. Iacobus |

Right, that's the mono one-shot bug. I was thinking this was something more general, but mD's right, I bet. |

I am also experiencing this annoying sound on some loops and one-shots. If I play these same .WAVs through another programme (like Cool Edit, or even Microsoft Sound Recorder), they play O.K. - it's just ACID Pro 3 that seems to be the problem. I am using the Soundblaster Live Platinum 5 card with the latest drivers and Liveware 3, on an Intel 1GHz powered machine running Win2K, 512Mb RAM. This is a very frustrating problem and is causing me some concern, particularly having spent several hundred pounds on Acid loops this week - I would appreciate some urgent advice on this. |
