Adobe capitalizing on FCPX fiasco...

Terje wrote on 7/1/2011, 3:12 PM
Adobe has slashed the price of the Production Premium by 50% for FCP customers. Doesn't look like they are checking what "FCP Customer" actually means however. So it looks like it is possible to get the entire CS5.5 PP suite for $800 or so right now, which must be considered a steal. Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects are each priced almost in that range and they are all included.

One can assume it is for the OSX? ;-)

Nope. Windows too.

Terje, where did you find the $800 offer? When I go to the Abobe Store (North America) the regular price is $1700. And 50 % is £850.

Terje, thanks for the heads up.

When you check out, use the check-out code SWITCH, and you'll be there. It's $849.50, I wasn't counting the smaller numbers :-)

seems to be valid only for US customers, at least as far as the downloadables as well as boxed versions in the Adobe shop goe. Videoguys want $110 for shipping international...quite a theft IMHO.
Looks like I have to call one of my US friends again...

I'd suppose the folks at dealers like VideoGuys are going 'call it what you want'... ka-ching!

If anyone spies a similar deal on the Master Collection, please let me know!

It is only valid for US customers, but Adobe DOES accept non-us credit cards for US customers. Getting a US address takes about 30 seconds on something like myus.com.
