does anyone know a way to remove lyrics from songs? either in MP3 from a CD or downloaded songs? thank you

Remember that there is no absolute method of separating vocals from a complete mixdown. The only true way is to have the original masters and just leave out the vocal track.

You can take out the vocals a little, but again it's not perfect. You're bound to have some vocal residue left over.

This subject took a really bad turn in the SF forum. I hope it doesn't go the same direction here.
I've found that removing vocals from a song, depends alot on the song. The VocalRemover plugin mentioned does a great job on some songs, but renders others totally useless.
I worked on a CD for months for a friend, and found that a combination of VocalRemover, multi-band dynamic processing, and eq, is usally neccesary to remove vocals. These are all either free or included with Soundforge. (and most other audio software).
There are technical ways also, but these to are depending on the song, and how it was recorded.
