This might be a siily question, but if I can pull this off it would be very useful. I thought maybe thru midi, but my foot-swtich is a TRS type. I'm still not sure if I can even interface properly but anyways.... I want to to hook up a Roland FS-5U and would like to insert markers on the timeline while I'm playing. It's way more efficient to mark these out while I'm playing then coming up to the mark, stop, back -up, play, mark, etc. Does anyone see a method to get this done? Would midi resolve this and have it thru a foot-controller? Has anyone already done this? thanks... |

You can set up a generic MIDI control device to do this. Yes, it has to be MIDI. The Roland FS-5U uses a standard 1/4" guitar cable. It is possible that it could be connected to a simple MIDI controller that accepts a standard controller. You'd still need the MIDI device that can use it. What audio hardware are you using? Some higher end audio devices do have a "trigger input" that can generate a MIDI message. You could then map that message to ACID's drop marker command. Peter |
