Can anyone tell me where to buy softencode, I do the audio for a charity Haunted Forest yearly and would like to play with ac3 and surround mixes for the bush but can't seem to find any place to actually purchase the software. Please email me at mailto:\\ve3sjk@home.com I don't get to the forums to often Thanks Steve.. |

I have Soft Encode, but it is dicontinued. Not enough end-users were buying the product, although it is extremely simple and self explanatory. (for the most part!?) I could make some alternative recommendations, but they have to do with Inuindo (sp?) and have heard alot of good things about the product (sub $1k). I know some big beta testers that like it. But I suppose it's okay to recommend an alternative product ONLY to this one, since it's not around anymore? Everything else, go Sonic! ;) |

Microsoft makes Windows 95 and Win3.1 Freeware since the software is no longer supported. Does that mean that Softencode is now considered freeware? Can I still buy multiple licenses? Can I distribute it freely? Too bad, SF, you would have made a few more bucks. It was just getting off the ground. |

I would be interested in a copy GraphicsBugs, but first we must make sure that this is legal with SF - can a SF employee respond please? |

I don't think SF will allow you to freely distribute SoftEncode. This product includes a pretty expensive Dolby License that still needs to be paid for. Just because SF no longer supports SoftEncode doesn't mean that the Dolby License is free. |
